Jose Mourinho: Aguero's face was "nice as always"

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has questioned Sergio Aguero's role in Marouane Fellaini's red card during a scoreless Manchester derby.

Fellaini was sent off inside the final ten minutes of Thursday's game after he squared up the the diminutive striker in what looked like a one-sided physical battle. The two men appeared to touch heads on the field, with Aguero falling to the ground.

“I saw Aguero in the tunnel", Mourinho said after the 0-0 draw. "No broken nose. No broken head. His face is nice as always".

"If Sergio doesn’t go to the floor for sure it’s not a red card but if Marouane gave him chance to do that", Mourinho told The Guardian. "I don’t know because I didn’t watch. I have just three details. Marouane says it’s a red card because it’s Marouane. He is very disappointed. He feels it is a red card because he is Marouane Fellaini."

Despite Mourinho's comments, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola would not speak about the incident. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss claimed he did not see the incident.

Fellaini's red card is the second of his career, since joining Manchester United. With five Premier League games left, United may have to do without the Belgian for the majority of those.
