Ireland's Jason Quigley won a unanimous decision against Glenn Tapia in the main event at Fantasy Springs Resort in California on Thursday to become the North America Boxing Federation middleweight champion.
The Donegal man improves to 13-0 (10 KOs) after winning on all three judge's scorecards 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92.
The fight itself wasn't as lopsided as the scorecards suggest with Quigley having to dig deep midway through the fight to overcome a game Tapia.
Speaking afterwards Quigley said: I'm taking this little bambino home with me to my people in Donegal and celebrate with my loved ones. Then when I come back, I'm going to celebrate with my team. This is a steppingstone to many more belts that are coming my way."

Tapia provided a solid test to see where Quigley stands in a stacked middleweight division but with Gennady Golovkin, Saul Alvarez, Danial Jacobs and David Lemieux vying for top spot perhaps a bout with number seven ranked Hassan N'Dam could be the next step for the Irishman.
