'I think the writing's on the wall for Balotelli'

After a difficult lead into the winter, Liverpool can look towards 2015 with slightly more optimism.

Back-to-back victories keep the Reds in the hunt for the Top Four and a move to a 3-4-3 formation with Raheem Sterling up front is reaping some dividends.

Tony Barrett of The Times joined us to assess the direction Liverpool is going in and he believes Sterling's impressive form up front will have a knock on effect on Mario Balotelli.

"I think the writing is on the wall for Balotelli," he said, adding that he expects Brendan Rodgers to sell the Italian when a suitable offer comes in.

Barrett also looked at who will have to lose out in midfield should Steven Gerrard return to the starting lineup as expected.

He also expects Emre Can to have a more prominent role going into the second half of the season as one of the three central defenders alongside Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho.

Barrett also previewed Liverpool's January transfer window priorities and how much movement there will be in and out of Anfield.
