'I don't like lingering on things' - Jamie Heaslip

Listen to the full interview via the podcast

A Six Nations winners' medal is already in the bag and a Rabo Pro 12 title could be achieved this weekend, but Leinster and Ireland No 8 Jamie Heaslip has revealed that he does not like to dwell on success.

The 30-year-old spoke to Off The Ball's Dave McIntyre earlier and admitted that the exact location of many of his most-prized medals are unknown.

"For a while after we won the first Heineken Cup and the same year we won the Grand Slam, I had those medals framed with the respective jerseys. But after a while I took them down because I just thought that I don't like lingering on things," said Heaslip, who does not know where his parents have kept his medals.

But he does admit that there will be a time when he will give those medals pride of place.

He also spoke of the sacrifices of the modern rugby career and things he and his peers miss out on.

But he did look ahead to the Pro 12 final against Glasgow Warriors and is under no illusion to the challenge Leinster face.

"They have looked really hard to beat over the tail end of the season. They have a lot of momentum either home or away. They're not going to be fazed by coming over to the RDS and playing to that cauldron. It's going to make for one hell of a game."
