Hibernian will face a play-off to retain the SPL status following a 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock.
The home loss means Hibs finish the season second from bottom and must now play a two-legged playoff with one of Queen of the South, Hamilton or Falkirk to avoid relegation to the Scottish First Division.
With Hearts already relegated it could mean no representative of the Scottish capital in next season’s SPL.
In the other games today Ross County won 3-2 at Partick Thistle, while Hearts, playing their final top flight game for at least another 15 months, was a 1-1 draw with St. Mirren.
