Henshaw leans on O'Driscoll and D'Arcy for Lions advice

Despite scoring the pivotal try in Ireland's first ever win over the All Blacks last November, Robbie Henshaw is keen to get all the advice he can ahead of this summer's Lions tour.

The Leinsterman scored Ireland's fifth try in Chicago last November as Ireland beat New Zealand 40-29 to record a famous win over the back-to-back world champions.

However, the 23-year-old is keen to soak up as much advice as possible ahead of the daunting tour to Aotearoa next month.

Speaking to the Lions' official website, he said: "I've met both (O'Driscoll and D'Arcy) during the year for a catch-up about their experiences; in particular Brian has been really good, his experience alone is invaluable.

"I picked their brains a bit. They said just coming out of your shell was one of the main things mentioned - not to be too shy, to mingle with everyone and get to know the lads and have good craic with them as well.

"They said enjoy it, do what you usually do and execute everything to the best you can," he added.

Despite his starring role in Chicago, Henshaw was stretchered off early in the return match in Dublin two weeks later when he turned blind into a Sam Cane tackle which left him motionless on the turf.

New Zealand went on to win the match 21-9 with the Irishman commenting: "The first game I played them we got that historic win, so it's one out of two, the second one didn't go so well."

The tour kicks off on the 3rd June when the Lions play a provincial Barbarians selection.
