Many people might not even be aware that a Europa League final was taking place tonight.
Particularly in England, European's secondary club competition is treated with a fair dose of disdain and there is often an argument that Premier League clubs are better off avoiding entry into the competition if at all possible.
That attitude is patently a load of rubbish however, according to our European football correspondent Graham Hunter.
"Look at Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid were unable to compete domestically or in European terms until they fell in love with the Europa League. They reached two finals and won them both. Instead of debilitating them, it's won them money and they're now competitive," said Graham, who added that tonight's participants Sevilla would earn a tidy sum and that the experience of playing midweek in Europe is educational for teams and players.
"When you hear people say it's better not to be in the Europa League, that's just bull. It's nonesense, it's mono-browed and it's knuckle-dragging."
