Gavin Duffy trains with Mayo but could he play this summer?

Mayo manager James Horan says they will look at former Connacht and Ireland full back Gavin Duffy and see what he is at.

Duffy who left Connacht at the end of this season trained with the Mayo squad this week and Horan says as a professional athlete he brings great leadership and professionalism to the squad.

The 32-year-old played in an All Ireland minor final with Mayo in 1999 before focusing his attention on rugby and has confirmed he has had offers to continue his rugby career from clubs in England but also expressed an interest in playing Gaelic football.

It had been thought that would only be at club level with Salthill Knocknacara, a club he has occasionally played for in recent years.

I’ve been speaking to Michael Gallagher of the Western People to find out more about this story and if the former Harlequins player could make an impact on the pitch this summer.
