The All Ireland champions needed two late scores to tie the match 0-13 a piece and have the chance to set the record themselves when they face Roscommon next.
Elsewhere in the Allianz National Football League, Donegal beat Tyrone 0-12 to 0-06, Kildare beat Down 2-09 to 0-10 while Carlow beat Waterford 2-10 to 0-07.
