Almost three-quarters of the Premier League season has concluded, as conversations about Teams of the Season have begun.
Former West Ham United and Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard was a guest on Monday Night Football and after Chelsea's 2-1 win over West Ham in the London Stadium, he was asked to pick his Best XI from 2016-17 so far.
While some names will not come as a surprise, there was one notable inclusion in the team. Burnley's Michael Keane was named in the centre of defence, alongside Chelsea's David Luiz. The former Manchester United player has impressed this season in the Premier League.
"When you're a player who has been let go by a top team, and has had to go back down the ladder - he's now proven himself", Lampard said. "I've seen some games where he's been fantastic this year. [Keane] may not be in everyone's Team of the Year... You have to give respect to young, English players... He's been outstanding."
While Keane's inclusion may be a surprise, Lampard played it safer with other picks such as N'Golo Kante, Harry Kane and Diego Costa.
