Former NFL player Todd Heap has accidentally killed his infant daughter at his Arizona home, according to police.
Todd Heap, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals, was moving his truck in his driveway yesterday afternoon, when the tragedy occurred.
His three-year-old daughter was transferred to a local hospital where she later died.
Police said 'there were no suspicious circumstances to the incident, and that impairment does not appear to be a factor.' Detectives are continuing the investigation, according to a spokesman.
37-year-old Heap was a first-round draft pick in 2001 for the Ravens, after attending Arizona State University. He spent 10 seasons with the Baltimore side where he had 499 receptions with 42 touchdowns.
He moved on to the Arizona Cardinals where he stayed for two seasons before retiring.
During his time with the Ravens, he established a charitable foundation called The Todd Heap Family Paediatric Centre, which raised money to help sick and disadvantaged children.
Heap was also a two-time Pro-Bowler.
