World governing body FIFA have confirmed they'll pay Everton captain Seamus Coleman's wages while he recovers from a double leg-break.
Coleman suffered the injury during the Republic of Ireland's goalless World Cup qualifier with Wales on Friday evening.
Neil Taylor was shown a red card for his challenge and the Donegal native required extensive treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off.
Coleman's pay is covered by FIFA's Club Protection Programme, though there's no certainty as to how long a "recovery period" is deemed.
"Under this Programme, clubs will be indemnified, to a certain extent, if their players are injured while on duty with senior men's representative "A" teams," the programme states.
"If a player is injured due to an accident while on duty with his representative "A" team, the player's club will be compensated for having to continue to pay the player's fixed salary although the player is temporarily disabled and unable to perform footballing activities for his club."

The governing body also point out under the legislation "injuries for which a player is receiving specific medical treatment when joining the representative "A" team for duty, are not covered for the part of the body concerned."
Coleman is reported to earn in the region of £50,000 per-week under his Everton contract. In his absence, Robbie Brady has been handed the captaincy for Ireland's clash with Iceland on Tuesday night.
With Ireland's ever-growing list of injury concerns, John O'Shea, Jonathan Walters, Glenn Whelan and James McCarthy have all been released to their respective clubs.
