Former football coach Barry Bennell has charged with four counts of indecent assault on a boy aged 11 to 12, the Crown Prosecution Service has said.
The 63-year-old will appear via video link at South Cheshire Magistrates' Court on Monday in relation to the charges.
A spokesperson for the CPS said: "Today, 9 March, former professional football coach Barry Bennell, 63, was informed that he has been charged with four counts of indecent assault on a boy aged 11 to 12 years."
The charges relate to a single complainant and are alleged to have taken place between 1981 and 1982.
On Tuesday, the CPS announced the former Crewe Alexandra coach faces eight counts of historical sexual abuse on a child.
He now faces a total of 20 sexual abuse allegations, having been previously charged with seven counts of indecent assault on a boy and one count of attempted buggery.
Those offences were alleged to have taken place between 1981 and 1986, when the victim was under the age of 16.
Bennell pleaded not guilty to those charges at Chester Crown Court in January and was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing on 20 March.
