Dominick Cruz happy to let Garbrandt-Dillashaw drama play out

Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz appears happy to let the drama between former training partners Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw play out as he waits in the wings.

Cruz has fought both men - beating Dillashaw by decision in early 2016 before losing to Garbrandt just under a year later.

The pair are currently coaching against one another on the reality series; The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) and have had several heated altercations already.

It stems from Dillashaw's controversial decision to leave Team Alpha Male and move to a new team in Colorado. The acrimonious split has been the source of tension for several months now.

Conor McGregor even predicted something was up prior to the split, describing Dillashaw as a "snake in the grass" - a description which has lingered ever since.

Speaking on the MMAHour recently as he watches the situation unravel, Cruz said: "I think Cody wins because I think that what’s happening with that whole situation, being involved on TUF Talk and seeing what’s going on, talking to Ludwig, talking to Dillashaw, talking to Cody, talking to certain people as I move through the sport and do this analyst gig.

"I think this beef really is Faber’s beef. And I think Cody will pretty much listen to Faber. If Faber told him to jump off a bridge headfirst, he would do it.

“He’s fighting Faber’s fight for him, plus TJ’s up for the belt, so it makes it even easier for Cody to just say, ‘eff you, TJ,’ plus, ‘my favorite mentor and coach, dad, uncle, whatever you want to call him, hates you too, so I really hate you,’” he added.

Garbrandt and Dillashaw are expected to clash during the promotion's "International Fight Week" in July although nothing is confirmed yet.
