Craig Shakespeare's time as Leicester City's caretaker manager began with a 3-1 win at home to Liverpool on Monday night.
The 53-year-old was assistant manager to Claudio Ranieri and his predecessor Nigel Pearson. Shakespeare also worked with Pearson at Hull City and in his first spell at Leicester between 2008 and 2010.
Leicester's 3-1 win over Liverpool was undoubtedly their best performance of 2017. Two goals from Jamie Vardy, and a stunning Danny Drinkwater strike gave the side a 3-0 lead, before Philippe Coutinho scored a second-half consolation for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Despite the impressive win, Shakespeare made it clear after the match, that he only expects to be in charge for a short time.
"Do I think I am capable of it? Yes. Does it faze me? No, but it is with the powers-that-be. The owners decide. It will take its course, they will sit down, and I will try to prepare the team as well as I can for Hull [their next match] unless told otherwise."
Leicester's players have been accused of giving up on Ranieri, and using their influence with the team's owners, to get rid of the Italian. Shakespeare said the criticism of the players, motivated them ahead of the win.
"I know the criticism has hurt and perhaps there was a little more fire in the belly because of that. They know they are guilty of under performing - but this is only one result and we must build on that."
Leicester's performance is undoubtedly their best in months. The fact it came in the first game after Ranieri's sacking raises suspicions.
Jamie Carragher said it best, on Sky Sports after the match. "I don't think I've ever seen a game of football where two teams should come off the pitch and hang their heads in shame. Liverpool for how bad they were and Leicester for how good they were, on the back of how poor they've, just through effort and commitment."
