Craig Shakespeare has been appointed as Leicester City manager until the end of the season.
Shakespeare, who took over the reigning Premier League champions following Claudio Ranieri's sacking last month, will remain in charge of the first team.
Shakespeare oversaw a return to form after the team had suffered seven defeats in nine games in all competitions. They went on to beat Liverpool and Hull City over the past two weeks. The wins constituted their first points in the league since January 2.
Leicester sit 15th in the league, three points clear of the relegation zone and face West Ham, Stoke and Sunderland in their upcoming games. Shakespeare has been of the Foxes' coaching staff for seven of the last eight seasons.
"Craig’s skills as a coach and the high regard in which he is held by everyone the club were well known to us," said Leicester vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.
"We always knew the team would be in good hands when we asked him to take charge a fortnight ago.
"He has initiated the type of positive response that we hoped change would bring, showing great leadership qualities and composure under considerable pressure to produce two very important results.
"We have asked him to continue to lead the team this season and we are very happy that he has accepted."
The 53-year-old joined City’s coaching staff as assistant to Nigel Pearson in 2008, spending a season with Hull City in 2010/11 before being brought back to the Club by the Srivaddhanaprabha family as part of Pearson’s reappointment in 2011.
