Clint Hill hits out at pundits peddling "garbage"

Clint Hill has hit out at pundits who wrote off Rangers this week, after his late equaliser secured the Gers a point away to Celtic this afternoon.

The 38-year-old was on hand to turn home an 88th minute equaliser to earn his side a share of the points and after the game, the former QPR defender attacked pundits who had criticised the team off ahead of the game.

"We've been questioned by various pundits speaking absolute nonsense all week about our character, how we were going to be weak and all this garbage," he told Sky Sports.

"I think we proved a few people wrong there. It's a great point. Happy for the fans as well. They've been through a lot over the last few years, so I hope they enjoy the point as well."

Celtic remain 33 points clear of their Glasgow rivals at the top of the table and are 25 points clear of second placed Aberdeen as they close in on the Scottish Premiership title.

Hill, however, was positive in his assessment of Ranger's performance and acknowledged the effort that his side put in for the full game.

"It was a great point from the lads. Didn't stop from the first minute to the last. They showed true spirit."

The point moves Rangers six points clear of Hearts in fourth position and the result will be seen as positive by new manager Pedro Caixinha who watched from the stands this afternoon.
