Claudio Ranieri says Leicester players support him

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri insists his players have full faith in him, despite suffering a demoralising 3-0 defeat to Man United in front of a home crowd this weekend.

The reigning Premier League title holders were rendered powerless, as United hit three goals in eight minutes to send the Foxes closer to the relegation zone.

There have been rumours of disharmony between Ranieri and the players but when probed about the speculation after the United game, Ranieri stressed that he has the full confidence of his players.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:

"We are Leicester, every time we are to fight. We are together. I'm fully confident of my players and also, the players are confident with me. They are happy with me."

Meanwhile, Kasper Schmeichel agreed that Leicester played well over the opening 40 minutes but labelled the rest of their performance as 'unacceptable.'

"It's not good enough and it sums up our season up at the moment. Let's not talk about last season, last season has gone. We need to stand up and be counted this season from top to bottom."

The Leicester keeper however, refused to be drawn on the speculation about any suggestion of a conflict between Ranieri and the squad.

Following the defeat to United, Leicester are now just one point away from the relegation zone.
