Celtic romp to sixth successive Scottish Premiership title

Celtic have retained their Scottish Premiership title after thrashing Heats 5-0 at Tynecastle to win their sixth consecutive championship.

A hat-trick from Scott Sinclair along with goals from Stuart Armstrong and a beautifully curled effort from Patrick Roberts saw Brendan Rodgers' crowned kings of Scottish football once again.

The Glasgow side are still unbeaten in domestic competition this season as Rodgers' side close in on a domestic treble for the first time since Martin O'Neill achieved it in 2001 - also in his first season as manager.

"It's a great performance today, this man [Scott Sinclair] started it," captain Scott Brown told Sky Sports after the game.

"Hat-trick hero, he deserves all the plaudits he gets this season. He's been outstanding from start to finish.

"The fans for 90 minutes were non-stop and they believed that we were going to do it. We believed we were going to do it today and we did it for them."

Brown explained that there were a few factors which saw them perform with such dominance in Scotland this season.

"The gaffer has come in and the way we've been playing. We're a lot fitter, we're scoring a lot more goals and made a couple of not bad signings.

"We need to push on, we've got to try and get into the Champions League next year. We need to keep going this season, 10 games to go now."

The champions now turn their attention to a Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Rangers later this month and will also look to go unbeaten all season.
