Celtic maintained their unbeaten domestic record for the season but were denied a win after a late Clint Hill goal earned Rangers a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park on Sunday.
Rangers started the better of the two teams but the champions gradually worked their way into the game and opened the scoring via Staurt Armstrong.
Despite the home side dominating the remainder of the game, Clint Hill scored late on to earn the Ibrox side a draw. Celtic arguably should have a penalty at the death when Leigh Griffiths was taken down in the box but the referee waved play on.
Speaking afterwards, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said: “It’s always disappointing if you lose a goal late on like that, especially the manner of it. We defended the first part the free-kick well and then we created space of our own making for the second phase. That’s the way it goes sometimes.
“We should have had a clear-cut penalty at the death, but I’m proud of the team today. It was a tough game. We weren’t so good in the first half. We had lots of effort, our commitment was great but we lacked the positioning and possession of the ball. It wasn’t a great first half, to be honest, in terms of the game.

“We made a change at half-time to try and get more superiority centrally, and we then took control of the game. I felt it was matter of time in the second half before we got the second goal but when it’s at 1-0, there is always that little moment that can happen. That’s the way it goes. We wanted three points but we will take a point,” he added.
Celtic are now 25 points clear of second place Aberdeen at the top of the league.
