A hooligan, armed with what appears to be a golf club, ran onto the pitch in a Croatian league match between league leaders Rijeka and Hadjuk Split at the weekend.
The terrifying incident occured at the end of the match with the scores tied 1-1 when the intruder went after the referee.
A Hadjuk defender then ushered the intruder off the pitch as match stewards appeared uninterested in intervening.
Armed riot police eventually escourted the man from the pitch area after he refused to go back into the crowd.
Hajduk midfielder Hamza Barry had given the home side a first half lead before a late goal from Roman Bezjak levelled the scores to maintain Rijeka's unbeaten domestic record.
