With Rio Ferdinand's enforced departure from Manchester United, it is pretty clear that the Old Trafford clearout is beginning to gather a full head of steam.
This week there are suggestions that Phil Neville, goalkeeping coach Chris Woods were told that their services are no longer required by United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
All the while, United are yet to confirm the appointment of Louis Van Gaal.
To get an inside track on what is going at Old Trafford, we spoke to United We Stand fanzine editor Andy Mitten who has had his ear to the ground.
Mitten explained that many decisions are being made behind the scenes with some being confirmed by the club like Ferdinand's departure and others kept under wraps for now.
Then there is Ryan Giggs whose future is uncertain with Van Gaal expected to come in.
"The club would like him to be incorporated into the new setup," said Mitten, who also explained that the assistant manager's job at Man United is not a well paid job, even if Giggs is more worried about his managerial prospects.
Mitten also suggested that Giggs recognizes that he is not ready to become a manager straight away, having got a taste of life as an interim coach.
"The reality of it is that the mental pressure - not a shock to his system - has been a big surprise. Big decisions need making there. Some of the players that would have to be let go have become friends. I think Ryan Giggs would have made those decisions. But just to go from being a player to becoming a manager of Manchester United is a massive, massive step. I think Ryan knows that he's not ready for management yet. That's certainly what I'm told."
Mitten added that the word on the ground suggests that Van Gaal is "amenable" to taking Giggs on as his assistant even if they are yet to meet.
