Where do your missing golf balls go?
Americans have recently found out that some balls may end up in their stomachs. McCain Foods have announced a recall of two of their products, due to "extraneous golf ball materials", being found in two of their frozen hash brown products.
Roundy’s Brand, 2 lb. Bag of Frozen Southern Style Hash Browns and Harris Teeter Brand, 2 lb. Bag of Frozen Southern Style Hash Browns have both been recalled in a number of northern and eastern states including Wisconsin, North Carolina and South Carolina.
A spokesman for McCain told CNet, that they felt stray golf balls may have ended up in potato fields are were not picked up, by staff.
"We believe the cause might be that the field where the potatoes were harvested was adjacent to a golf course."
According to Golf Week, the core of golf balls are "often made of rubber, but some some balls may have a liquid centre".
Despite the recall, McCain confirmed that "there have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of this product."
