AUDIO: Murray's a must for Munster to beat Saracens - Keith Wood

Keith Wood reckons Munster’s hopes of beating Saracens this weekend are all wrapped up in Conor Murray’s availability.

The Ireland scrum-half remains a doubt with a neck injury ahead of the Southerners’ trip to London tomorrow - and this afternoon’s team announcement.

“[Murray] would be a huge lose,” Wood told Newstalk’s Oisin Langan this morning. “An awful lot of Munster’s game is built on the control he shows at nine.

“He's taken an awful lot of pressure off [Ian] Keatley outside him by taking over a lot of the kicking game from ball in hand.

“If he doesn’t make the cut, I think Munster will suffer for it quite badly.”

The 2001 world player of the year added: “I thought this was a game Munster would go and win. That bit of optimism is contingent on whether Conor Murray plays.”

Wood also said that he’s “not even vaguely worried” for Leinster against Castres, doesn’t give Ulster a chance against Toulon, and labelled Bundee Aki’s injury “a very cruel blow” for Connacht ahead of the Westerners’ clash against Exeter.
