AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons met for the first time on Tuesday night at Kingsmeadow.
It was the fifth time the teams have met, with the previous four matches taking place at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes.
This season, the two teams were finally in the same division, 14 years after AFC Wimbledon were formed in 2002. While MK Dons began life in the League One, Wimbledon began life in the ninth tier, before the two teams became equals at the start of the season.
In October, AFC Wimbledon leapfrogged MK Dons for the first time in the league standings. Currently there is five positions and six points between the teams in the League One standings.
Tuesday's 2-0 win for AFC Wimbledon was not unexpected, but the way the team reacted to MK Dons visit to Kingsmeadow was certainly telling.

In all off the club's documentation of the game, AFC Wimbledon's opponents was known as Milton Keynes, or MK. Dons was never used by the club.
Pete Winkleman, the MK Dons owner and the man who moved the original incarnation of Wimbledon to Milton Keynes was not allowed into the Director's Box at the game. He sat with the away fans.
While some observers may count the AFC Wimbledon hierarchy's treatment of their rivals at petty, the bad blood between the two sides shows no signs of stopping.
Come the end of the season, AFC Wimbledon could lay legitimate claims to being the better team, despite being created as a chance for fans to continue supporting a Wimbledon team, whatever level that was at.
