10 positive Coronavirus Tests across both Bundesliga divisions

Testing of Bundesliga players for coronavirus in advance of a potential resumption of football behind closed doors has revealed 10 positive results.

Players and staff were tested from 36 first and second division clubs in Germany over two rounds.

In total, 1724 tests were taken, with 10 showing as positive. These tests are being taken to ascertain whether the environment is safe to resume contact sport.

Last week, Cologne revealed that 3 of their staff had tested positive, but they say the trio are now symptom free, although the individuals will remain in isolation.

Cologne have said that only players who have tested negative twice in a row will be able to train and play.

German authorities have delayed until Wednesday a decision whether to permit the Bundesliga to complete their seasons without crowds present.

Testing will continue regardless whether there is a return to action or not, with a second round of testing to take place this week.

Germany's progress in becoming the first major football league to return is seen as a barometer for the Premier League, who are hoping to resume their season on June 18th in time for UEFA's desired cut-off point of early August.

Meanwhile, Wolves' first team players will return to training next Monday, observing social distancing measures and under instructions to wash their own kit.
