The newly refurbished Páirc Uí Chaoimh stadium will host the All-Ireland hurling quarter-finals this coming July, Central Council has confirmed.
The news comes following a raft of criticism regarding the announcement that the stadium would not be ready in time to stage either of the Munster finals, having missed the scheduled handover date.
The quarter-finals were initially set to take place in Semple Stadium but will now be held in the new Páirc Uí Chaoimh grounds which will have a capacity of around 45,000.
