And without much fuss, Kilkenny are gearing up for another appearance in a hurling provincial decider.
An early burst of scores in the second half sent Kilkenny thundering into a commanding lead that they never looked like relinquishing.
But with the sides sitting just one point apart at half-time, it looked as though a more even contest would materialise after the break.
Dublin reproduced their impressive league form with blistering speed in the first half. Three significant blocks combined with a Dotsy O'Callaghan attempt at goal perfectly exhibited Dublin's intent to compete with the reigning Leinster and All-Ireland champions.
And with Ger Cunnignham's side trailing by just three points inside the first half hour, the capital were gradually growing in confidence as the game progressed.
But at the turn of 32 minutes, Kilkenny manufactured a four point lead with Padriag Walsh splitting the posts to leave the scoreline reading 0-12 to 0-08.
Dublin's industrious manner brought them back into the contest in the lead up to half-time. They hit three unanswered scores to leave the deficit at just one point, David Treacy getting the last of those through an easy tap over free.
But Kilkenny emerged with something extra in the second half. They hit two early scores to regain the three point lead. One of those was a well taken point off the stick of TJ Reid. And from there, they tagged on four more points to leave them eight points ahead and entering cruise control.
Cillian Buckley complimented that burst of scoring power with a monstrous strike from the midway point before Jonjo Farrell smashed the ball into the Dublin net to put Kilkenny 10 points in front. And from their, it was merely routine work for Brian Cody's charges as they continued to tack on the points with minimal response from Dublin.
David Treacy chipped in with points where he could but the ruthlessness of Kilkenny prevailed and condemned the capital to the qualifiers.
