'Expect Kilkenny to hurl with manic intensity against Limerick' | Daithi Regan

Kilkenny can put Limerick off their game if they outwork them on Saturday, according to former Offaly hurler Daithi Regan

Speaking to Off The Ball, Daithi believes that  if any team can beat them then it is Brian Cody's men.

"Limerick build from the back, and they like to play heads up hurling.

"But if you have someone coming at you it tends to force your clearances. I witnessed Limerick being forced to do that against Cork and they looked fairly average."

Daithi believes that Kilkenny hold the key to win on Saturday at Croke Park.

"Expect Kilkenny to hurl with manic intensity at the weekend, from number fifteen all the way back-  you have to attack it in numbers. I think it is going to incredibly physical."

With the way Limerick have been playing this year Regan knows it will be a tough task for Brian Cody's men.

"I don't think we're bigging up Limerick at all and when we analyse what we've seen I don't think you can do anything other than eulogise Limerick, to be honest."

"They've won an All-Ireland superbly and while their performances since then haven't been as good, when they have those sustained bursts of play they're nigh unbeatable. For me, Kilkenny are the one team this year I think can beat them."

Limerick play Kilkenny at Croke Park on Saturday with kick-off at 6pm.
