Zach Johnson hopes to drink from the Claret Jug whilst wearing his green jacket this week

Zach Johnson is a member of one of golf's most elite clubs.

He is only of only six people to win The Masters and The Open at St Andrews. Only Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros and Sam Snead have done the same. It's not a bad club to be in.

Johnson won The Open last year at The Old Course. As the reigning champion he is allowed to keep the Claret Jug for the year. Speaking on Monday evening ahead of the Masters, the 40-year-old hopes to enjoy the opoortunity to enjoy the Claret Jug whilst wearing the green jacket.

Masters' champions are allowed keep their green jacket for the year after they win the tournament. When they return to Augusta the following year, the jacket must stay in the clubhouse.

"I might try to introduce it to Mr. Green Jacket, if you will," Johnson said when speaking about his time as Open champion.

"It's a beautiful trophy. You're talking about two of the biggest, iconic symbols in sports. To have that honour to don the Green Jacket and drink out of the Claret Jug is pretty special."

Johnson has played as The Masters on eleven occasions. His 2007 win is only one of three times, the winner finished over-par. The other two occasions came in the 1950s.

Last year, Johnson finished ten shots behind Jordan Spieth in a tie for ninth place. It was his only time to finish inside the top-ten at Augusta apart from this triumph nine years ago.
