Steph Curry is turning basketball into a different game right in front of our eyes.
The reigning back-to-back MVP has almost single-handedly reinvigorated the game, with interest in the NBA spreading further than its North American heartland, primarily due to Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
Journalist Erik Malinowski recorded Curry on Monday night warming up ahead of Game 1 of the West Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 28-year-old effortlessly shot five-from-five baskets from the logo in the centre of the court.
Those shots were at least coming from 40-feet from the basket, and there was noting but net each time. The only similar way of describing Curry's accuracy is to see him on a football pitch from the 18-yard line, and consistently hitting the crossbar.
Those shots were as good as it got for Curry and the Warriors on Monday night. The team fell to a surprising 108-102 loss in the opening match of the best-of-seven series.
