Last night's NFC divisional game between the Cardinals and the Packers produced a moment of magic followed by a blunder for the ages.
Green Bay Packers quarter-back Aaron Rodgers sent the game into overtime with a superb 41-yard touchdown pass that sent the game into overtime, thus prompting the need for a coin-flip to determine the direction each team would play.

The referee called both squads in and explained the rules of a post-season game before routinely launching a coin in the air. But what happened next was nothing short of bizzare. Those who have seen the comedy film Rat Race will be able to discern some kind of correlation with what happened, but most will be left understandably stunned.
Rather than rotate a few times in the air, the coin effectively hovered for a few seconds before falling to the grass. Anarchy briefly ensued with players from both sides converging on the ref and protesting that it didn't flip.
But credit to the main official, he immediately noticed his mistake, picked up the coin and tossed it again like it was nobody's business.

The Arizona Cardinals won the coin flip re-throw and also went on to win the game on a final scoreline of 26-20.
