While many Irish motor sport fans may have had their eyes focused on Silverstone for the weekend's British Grand Prix, American fans were at the Dayton Speedway for the NASCAR Coke Zero 400.
A fan at the race filmed the moment when driver Austin Dillon's car crashed into the fence. Some fans needed medical attention, but thankfully there were no serious injures in the crowd. Dillon walked away from the crash unscathed.
Dillon was quoted in USA Today after the race saying; "Our speeds are too high, I think. I think everybody could get good racing with slower speeds. We can work at that, and then figure out a way to keep the cars on the ground."
Worst wreck I've ever seen in my life. #NASCAR #CoCaColaZero400 #cokezero400 @disupdates
