A race in Leicester on Saturday night ended with the first and last appearance of a surprise contender.
In the home stretch of the Cream Gorse Handicap, one man snuck under the safety railings and tried to beat the field (with a bit of a head start). With only a pair of far shorter legs, he wasn't quite able to keep up, and dropped behind before being apprehended by security.
Speaking to Sky News, course clerk Jimmy Stevenson said:
"We've never had anything like that before, and hopefully we'll never have it happen again... Security were on him straight away and obviously he'll be banned for life."
