Tyson Fury claims there was a plan to have his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko on a sheikh's yacht

Tyson Fury, the WBO, IBO and The Ring heavyweight champion of the world, spoke about the plans for a rematch against Wladimir Klitschko in 2016 and revealed there was a very interesting plan in the works.

The controversial champion stated that he was looking to get the fight in Wembley, but that there had already been an offer to host the fight from an Arabian sheikh that would have made it an extremely exclusive event.

The idea was to hold their rematch on the billionaire sheikh's super yacht, with only 120 people in attendance, all of whom would be forking over $1 million a piece to watch on, and the two boxers would split the purse.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Fury stated that while it might sound absurd, it was a very real possibility.

"The sheik wanted us to fight as we sailed on an exclusive cruise," said Fury, "with just 120 millionaires on board paying $1 million each to watch. No TV, no press. Just some of the wealthiest men in the world. And it was deadly serious".

Fury added that "Wladimir was up for it. I was super up for it as I would have been getting the lion’s share of the $120 million. It fell through in the end and one of the problems was our fans being shut out".

While there is little to substantiate the claims made by Fury, and Klitschko has yet to comment on it, there is set to be a rematch between the two, and Ireland is one of a number of venues in the running. Fury rejected claims that the fight has already been set for Germany, saying "nothing has been agreed. We are in negotiation with two Middle East venues, Abu Dhabi and Qatar, Croke Park in Dublin, Wembley and for Germany again".

Fury added that he's looking for Klitschko to fight in Wembley, as it would be "only right" for the Ukranian boxer to "return the favour" and fight in England, but he would love to fight in front of 80,000 people in the iconic stadium in London.
