Tributes are being paid to Roddy Piper, a legend from the world of wrestling, who has died.
The 61-year-old is reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest in his sleep at his home in Hollywood, where he was discovered yesterday.
He was one of the biggest stars in the WWE - then the WWF - back in the 1980s, squaring off against other famous wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Mr T.
Roderick "Roddy" George Toombs - a member of the WWE Hall of Fame - won more than 30 titles over the course of his wrestling career.
Roddy - known for his 'Scottish' wrestling persona, including wearing a kilt - also starred or featured in a number of films, including cult sci-fi film They Live.
He is survived by his wife Kitty and their four children.
John Carpenter, the director of They Live, wrote on Facebook, "devastated to hear the news of my friend Roddy Piper's passing today. He was a great wrestler, a masterful entertainer and a good friend."
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon said, "Roddy Piper was one of the most entertaining, controversial and bombastic performers ever in WWE, beloved by millions of fans around the world. I extend my deepest condolences to his family.”
Other prominent wrestlers have been paying their tributes:
