St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher has stated that he believes wide receiver Stedman Bailey is unlikely to ever return to football after being shot.
Bailey suffered two gunshot wounds to the head near his home in Miami Gardens, Florida on November 24th, and while his condition was life-threatening for a period, he has been making good strides towards recovery in the time since.
Speaking on Monday, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said that Bailey's health was the primary concern, and that he was "probably done playing football".
However, there was some optimism from Fisher, as he added that "based on what he's done [in terms of recovery] over the last 10 days, he may surprise everybody".
Taking to Twitter last week, Bailey thanked fans for their support and described his recovery to date as a "miracle", stating that his goal was to work towards getting back on the football field.
