Serena Williams is two games away from completing the calendar Grand Slam after she defeated he sister Venus in the US Open quarter finals last night.
The younger Williams sister won the game in three sets. It finished 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 at Flushing Meadows. Serena now leads Venus 16-11 in head to head matches and its the second Grand Slam in a row the sisters met in after Serena won it straight sets at Wimbledon.

Speaking about her older sister after the match, Serena said; "She came out hitting so hard, just blasting every shot. I was on defense a lot because she had so much power. It wasn’t really easy today at all.”

Williams now faces the unseeded Italian, Roberta Vinci in the semi finals, two wins away from history.
