For the second year in a row, Rory McIlroy is the number one golfer in Europe after he came from one shot behind, to prevail on the final day at the World Tour Championship in Dubai.
In addition to becoming number one in Europe, McIlroy has also won the Race To Dubai. This is his third time to claim the number one crown in Europe, finishing one shot ahead of England's Andy Sullivan on 21-under-par.
McIlroy's closest rival for the European number one spot was Danny Willett who finished the week in joint fourth.

Sullivan lead by one shot heading into the final day after McIlroy carded a disappointing third-round 65. And the Englishman maintained his lead on the final day. After four holes, Sullivan was three shots in front and putting beautifully.

But just as McIlroy did yesterday, Sullivan's composure wilted on the final stretch and by the 17th hole, McIlroy was two shots in front after a brace of birdies. The Northern Irishman hit the water but sank a 30 ft putt to card a final round of 66 and seal the win.
