Yesterday, Padraig Harrington became the latest Irishman to become a Ryder Cup captain.
The Dubliner will lead Team Europe at Whistling Straits in 2020, having previously appeared six times as a player.
He follows Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke as recent Europe captains from these shores.
As McGinley told us on Tuesday night: "I'm a great believer in the best man for the job and there's no doubt that Padraig is the best man for the job at this moment in time.

"That's his goal. That's what he wants to be - to go out and put a cherry on top to what's been an incredible career with a win as a Ryder Cup captain.
"Particularly, as he said in the press conference, away from home. It's a lot more difficult."

Whether he can follow McGinley's example and lead Europe to victory, we'll have to see next year.
