Kevin Phelan has reached the clubhouse after his first round of the Africa Open with a one-shot lead over the field.
The Waterford man is in red-hot form following on from his joint-second finish at last week's Joburg Open.
And today he managed six birdies to offset one bogey in maintaining his purple patch.
