Peyton Manning made NFL history last night by becoming the first starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl with two different teams.
But that impressive statistic has been eclipsed by yet another disappointing individual performance for the Denver Broncos star.
Manning finished the Super Bowl 50 with a passer rating of 56.6, which represents the fourth worst in the history of Super Bowl winning quaterbacks. And while Manning failed to find consistency, victory for the Denver Broncos was largely influenced by Super Bowl MVP Von Miller as well as their defence who forced turnovers and curtailed the 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton.
But irrespective of his poor form this season, Manning remains the proud owner of two Super Bowl rings. Speaking to the media after the win, the delighted 39 year-old said he intends to enjoy the celebrations and won't be looking too far beyond that for now:

''I'll take some time to reflect. I have a couple of priorities first. I want to go kiss my wife and my kids, I want to go hug my family. I'm going to drink a lot of Budweiser tonight. I promise you that! I'm going to take care of those things first, and say a little prayer to thank the man upstairs for this great opportunity. I'm just very grateful."
Manning went on to pay tribute to his former coach Tony Dungy of the Indianapolis Colts who apparently offered some sage advice about how best to handle retirement.
''He got some good evidence from Dick Vermeil and Bill Cowher about not making an emotional decision, one way or another. I thought that was good advice - let this sink in. It's been an emotional week, emotional night and the night's just beginning. I look forward to celebrating. I think I'll take some time after that. I'll enjoy tonight and take it one step at a time. I'm going to follow old coaches' advice and I think I'll make a good decision and I think I'll be at peace with it whichever way it goes.''
