Nate Diaz wants to fight Conor McGregor at Lightweight

Nate Diaz has revealed he wants to fight Conor McGregor at 155lbs in their potential rematch at UFC 200.

The Californian native defeated McGregor earlier this month at UFC 196 in a fight at 170lbs. Diaz was called in as a late replacement to fight McGregor after Rafael dos Anjos pulled out injured of the scheduled Lightweight bout.

Speaking to UFC Tonight on Fox Sports, Diaz has revealed he wants the potential rematch with McGregor to happen at the lighter weight. "If there’s a second fight, I’ll fight at 55. I’d like to be in shape... I don’t want to hear no excuses. I’ll make 55. I was planning on making 55 last time.”

The Stockton native also revealed that after his pay-day from beating McGregor he is primarily interested now in big money fights in the UFC. Diaz has previously fought for the UFC Lightweight Championship in 2012, before losing to Benson Henderson on the judge's scorecard.

“The best fighters in the world are getting paid the best money. The belt is a fairy tale, as far as I’m concerned. That might piss a lot of people off."

UFC 200 takes place in Las Vegas on July 9th. Whether Diaz and McGregor fight for a second time remains to be seen.
