Rory McIlroy is one win away from the last 16 at the WGC World Match Play after beating Brandt Snedeker last night at the TPC Harding Park course in San Francisco.
The World number 1 won the match by 2 holesand faces FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel later today.
There was heartbreak for Shane Lowry last night losing to Rickie Fowler on the final hole, to thwart his last 16 chances.
After losing to Lowry in his first match, Graeme McDowell continued his poor form in the tournament losing to Harris English 2 and 1.
If McIlroy wins today he will have the winner from Group 16. Hideki Matsuyama, Kevin Na and Joost Luiten may still advance from that group.
.@ShaneLowryGolf enjoyed it man! We will have plenty more match ups and looking forward to them!
