Graeme McDowell is just two strokes off the lead on two-under-par after a round of 67 at the BMW Masters in Shanghai.
Shane Lowry ended two-under after a round of 70 while Paul McGinley finished on one-under.
Alexander Levy leads by one on seven-under in the clubhouse.
McDowell is in 14th position in the Race to Dubai and his performance in this week’s tournament will be crucial for his final ranking.
The world number 17 was full of praise for the course at Lake Malaren Golf Club despite recent spells of rain.
McDowell spoke to Nick Dye about a round that included five birdies and getting himself right despite not feeling well earlier in the week:
