Jules Bianchi fans hit back after DHL use crash to gain Facebook ‘likes’

DHL has been heavily criticised for using Jules Bianchi’s crash at the Japanese Grand Prix yesterday to collect ‘likes’ on their Facebook page post.

The German logistics company posted a message, Formula 1 Backstage by DHL, telling readers that ‘liking’ their post would mean they were sending their best wishes to French driver Bianchi, who remains in a life-threatening condition.

However, fans promptly hit back at the PR stunt pointing out that ‘liking’ the post would only serve to boost DHL’s marketing reach on Facebook, rather than having any direct link to Bianchi.

The post has since been removed from Facebook, but that hasn’t stopped fans venting their fury at DHL’s actions.

The Marussia F1 driver remains in a critical condition in hospital after undergoing three-hour brain surgery yesterday evening.
