Ireland have had a disappointing Day Three at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing as the four athletes in action were not able to reach their respective finals.
Finn Valley's Tori Pena cleared 4.30 metres in the Pole Vault but was 20 centimetres short of the final qualifying place as she finished in 10th place in her qualifying group.
Michelle Finn, Sara Treacy and Kerry O'Flaherty were all in action in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Finn finished ninth in the first heat and finished in 9:55:27, just over 30 seconds behind the winner Hiwot Ayalew.
In the seocnd heat, Sara Treacy finished in thirteenth place with a time of 9:48:24. In the final heat, Kerry O'Flaherty also finished thirteenth in a time of 10:05:10.
The next Irish athletes are in action on Wednesday in the Birds Nest Stadium.
