Irish fans want Conor McGregor to receive a homecoming in Dublin

Over 17,000 people have signed a petition wanting Conor McGregor to be given a homecoming reception when he returns to Dublin.

McGregor defeated Brazilian Jose Aldo at UFC 194 last weekend to become the Unified UFC Featherweight Champion. The 13-second victory was the quickest UFC title fight in history.

McGregor is expected to return to Dublin in the coming days and the petition hopes to see McGregor lauded by Dublin City Council for his achievements.

Wexford native Paula Keville created the petition because; "Dublin City has no plans to arrange a homecoming for the unified UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor."

You can sign the petition here.
