On Friday, Cavan man Paul Brady completed an incredible achievement by winning a fifth World Handball Championship crown.
Beating Cork counterpart Killian Carroll in the final in Calgary, Canada, it caps off a remarkable career for the 36-year-old and is a fine way to end his time competing in world championships.
Brady joined us on Off The Ball tonight and confirmed that he intends to keep playing on the American circuit for the next two years.
But he also chatted about his whole career and his beginnings in Gaelic football with Cavan, before gradually making the switch to handball after starting secondary school and launching an extra-ordinarily successful career.
And he also touched on how the American dominance of the US circuit has dissipated in the last 10-15 years.
"Playing a Cork man in the final is unprecedented. That wouldn't have happened. It's only in the last decade that it has really changed," he said, explaining that Carroll defeated some of the top US players en route to the final.
