Conor McGregor is sure he is going to win the UFC featherweight title soon and with the way he is going, the Dubliner is doing all the right things, rising to fifth in the rankings.
A first round TKO win over Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas on Saturday night has hauled him closer to the summit and his coach John Kavanagh took time out to speak to us about the fight, the huge Irish presence in Vegas and the aftermath.

"I, personally would be very surprised if his next featherweight contest was not for the belt," said Kavanagh, of McGregor's next potential fight, who added that McGregor is a big ratings draw for the UFC.
Kavanagh also addressed recent Twitter altercations, including one particular one this weekend and admits it was a "mistake" on his part and will be blocking any dissenting voices as time goes on.

Kavanagh sees McGregor at close quarters and thinks he has a gift for dealing with pressure in the build up to fights.
"The pressure doesn't affect him like it would a normal civilian for whatever reason. He's able to be relaxed as though he were in the gym," said Kavanagh, who also added that McGregor would have wanted to finish Poirier with a walk off knockout rather than a TKO.
He also explained why he thinks McGregor has one of the best punches in the featherweight division, although he feels the level of boxing among other MMA fighters in the division is fairly mediocre.
